Route 80: A Gazettea journal of moderate centrist observation by John Franklin San Diego, California, U.S.A. |

July 3, 1998: Launch date!
This is not a single-issue publication. I'll address politics, medical care, gun ownership, abortion, and a whole host of issues relevant to modern times, especially in the U.S.A. I hope to speak for a great number of people who share a politically moderate, centrist position with me. If the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Gordon Liddy can monopolize the airwaves, then certainly decent, normal people also have the right to be heard.
In the 1990's, right-wing hooligans have taken over the U.S.A. I firmly believe democracy will triumph over this assault from within, and it will be a short while until this gang is history. In the meantime, as a moderate centrist, I would like to put forth my views on this soapbox, not in Hyde Park, but in Balboa Park.
Notes: being moderate and centrist does not mean you don't have strong views, as readers may at times find. Also, this is of course a work in progress, subject to constant improvement. And the reader will hopefully, if not a dour conservative, forgive my occasional lapse into humor.
I would like to give greetings and thanks to my readers in all time zones, to mothers making apple pie barefoot in the kitchen by the American hearth, and to all the ships far out at sea.
